Prenatal Consultations

Childbirth education, individualized support, in the comfort of home!

You or a loved one is expecting a babe! You likely have questions or maybe you don’t know where to start…

  • Do I choose a midwife practice or an obstetrician? What’s the difference?
  • What’s the deal with homebirth?
  • What actually is an epidural?
  • As a POC, how do I advocate for myself and my baby in a predominately white health care system?
  • Is this (whatever it is ) 'normal'?

This is why prenatal consultations are awesome!

What are the benefits of a private prenatal consultation?

CONVIENCE

We consult in the comfort of your own home, adapted to your own schedule

CUSTOMIZED

In our 3 hours together we cover topics specific to your family and your child’s birth. Topics include:

  • one-on-one childbirth education
  • private prenatal yoga
  • the role of a support person during pregnancy and birth
  • navigating the healthcare system
  • individualized physiological suggestions based on your unique body and pregnancy.
  • Have other ideas? Awesome!

CREATE

We work together to create a ‘birth wishlist’ (as opposed to a birth plan, as births rarely go as planned).

"Prior to our labor and delivery, Adelaide helped facilitate difficult conversations my husband and I needed to have related to our birth plan. She provided a non-biased perspective and brought in research to help us make important decisions. As this was our first child, there was a lot that we did not know and did not know what to ask. Adelaide brought to our attention things to think about and to discuss with our doctor. We felt her support throughout the entire process."

"As a first time mom, I wanted to make sure that my mom would be present throughout my labor and the birth of my baby girl but felt like I needed just one more support person. The lovely Adelaide met with my mom and I for a prenatal consultation in the comfort of mom’s home while she cooked a traditional Honduran dish. During our meeting of four hours, we dove into the several topics of pregnancy, labor, birth and postpartum, along with natural/home remedies. Adelaide was amazing, super supportive and knowledgeable, offering plenty of resources and information. I appreciate her and her ability to ease my concerns about labor and helping me trust the process!"

(Diana)

"During our prenatal visit with Adelaide, she helped us understand the labor and delivery process and helped us think through possible scenarios. My partner often shares that he was always excited to be a father, but had never much looked forward to the actual birthing experience until Adelaide helped him to identify his hopes, fears, and questions."
