WOMEN'S BODIES ARE UNIQUE.

Women are not small men. Most movement systems from ballet, to weight lifting, to pilates, to yoga, were created by male bodies, for male bodies, and retrofitted (or not) to meet the bodies of women.

 

THERE IS A BETTER WAY - MOVEMENT FOR THE FEMALE BODY

 

In small group classes, we combine spiritual inquiry, community engagement, and women's based movement. By moving in connection with our unique physiology and hormonal blueprints, we discover deeper strength, increased ability, and greater comfort.

SMALL MAGIC STUDIO

IN-PERSON CLASSES IN ESSEX. MA

Each class will begin with a community discussion or other contemplative focus (a short reading, a sutra, etc). Following our contemplation, we will move through a strong and intelligent movement practice, with individualized instruction for each participant. Class sizes are kept intentionally small to ensure individualized support (4-8 students). Pregnant and postpartum women welcome. Injuries and alter-abilities are welcomed and encouraged. Pre-registration required.

MOVEMENT FOR THE FEMALE BODY

A LIVE FOUR-WEEK SERIES

I pull from over a decade of dedicated physiological study and certification in an array of movement modalities including Iyengar Yoga, Functional Patterns, Feldenkrais, Reformer Pilates, physical therapy, qi gong, holistic pelvic floor therapy, weight training, and somatic healing. I personally have healed myself from both severe ligament tears as well as fractures to the hip, pelvis, scapula, and cervical (neck) vertabrea, all without surgury, though using women-centered movement. You can move with less pain, You can progress at any age. You can heal your body and move with more function, comfort and joy.  And I cannot wait to support you in the process.
